Gordie is operated by The Real Human Project LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Gordie.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information when you use Gordie.

Account Information

  • account identifiers

Content You Create or Submit

When using Gordie, you may create or submit content including:

  • audio and video recordings
  • uploaded media
  • written interview context or descriptions
  • links or information provided to generate interview questions
  • transcripts
  • edited media and related materials

Purchase and Membership Information

If you make a purchase, we may collect information about:

  • your membership or purchase
  • Editing Credits and their use
  • transaction history
  • billing and membership status
  • applicable payment or app store transaction identifiers

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or app stores.

For web purchases, Gordie uses a third-party payment processor. For purchases made through our mobile apps, payments may be processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play.

Gordie does not generally receive or store your complete payment card details when those details are processed by these providers.

Technical and Usage Information

We may automatically collect information such as:

  • device type
  • browser type
  • IP address
  • app and device information
  • usage activity within Gordie
  • interactions with our website, apps, emails, and other communications

This information helps us operate, secure, understand, and improve Gordie.

How We Use Information

  • operate and provide Gordie
  • generate interview questions
  • process recordings
  • provide human editing services
  • create video, audio, transcripts, and other Deliverables
  • distribute content when you request it
  • process and manage purchases, memberships, and Editing Credits
  • provide customer and producer support
  • communicate with you about Gordie
  • improve product features and functionality
  • analyze platform performance
  • measure and improve marketing effectiveness
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • comply with legal obligations

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

Gordie uses cookies and similar technologies to operate, analyze, and improve the service.

These technologies may help us:

  • keep you logged in

  • understand how people use Gordie

  • media generation

Gordie may use third-party technology providers to perform this processing. The providers and technologies we use may change over time.

User recordings and media are not used by Gordie to train public artificial intelligence models.

Human Editing

When you submit an interview for editing, authorized Gordie team members, editors, contractors, or service providers may access your recording and related content as necessary to provide the editing service.

Communications and Notifications

We may communicate with you by email, through Gordie, or through push notifications on your device.

Some communications are necessary to provide the service, such as account, purchase, production, security, and delivery notifications.

We may also send product or marketing communications where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe option in those messages and can generally control push notifications through your device settings.

Storage and Retention

Gordie generally retains raw recordings and paid Deliverables for at least 12 months after they are created or delivered, unless you request deletion or applicable law requires otherwise.

We may retain them for longer, but we do not guarantee permanent storage.

You are responsible for downloading and retaining copies of content you want to preserve.

We may retain certain account, transaction, security, or other information for longer where reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes or to comply with legal obligations.

Third-Party Services

Gordie relies on third-party providers to operate the service. These may include:

  • cloud hosting providers
  • payment processors and app stores
  • AI and automated processing providers
  • media production and processing services
  • podcast and content distribution platforms
  • analytics, advertising, and measurement providers
  • customer communication and support providers

These providers may process information as necessary to provide services to Gordie. The particular providers we use may change from time to time.

Information may be processed or stored in the United States, Canada, or other countries where Gordie or its service providers operate.

Data Deletion Requests

You may request:

  • deletion of recordings associated with your account
  • removal of content published through Gordie
  • deletion of your account

We will make reasonable efforts to process deletion requests, subject to information we may need or be permitted to retain for legal, billing, security, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate business purposes.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect user information and maintain the security of the service.

However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security.

We Do Not Sell Personal Information

Gordie does not sell personal information to third parties.

We may use analytics, advertising, and measurement providers as described above. Depending on applicable privacy law, certain uses of advertising technologies may be treated differently from a traditional sale of personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If changes are made, the updated version will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
